If you are a lay teacher at a non-union school and wish to organize, please reach out we would be glad to explain the process for organizing from start to finish.
We start by setting up a meeting with the lay teachers of your building to discuss the benefits of joining the Federation. Under U.S. Labor law you have the right to meet with us without fear of punishment from your employer, but we still treat all conversations as confidential.
If the teachers at your school wish to proceed, they would sign agency appointment cards indicating they have a desire to organize a collective bargaining election for your school. If a majority of teachers show a desire for an election, an election will take place following legal guidelines.
